Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Real Estate , Public Utilities and Consumption sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 1.04%.

The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were LWSA SA (BVMF: LWSA3 ), which rose 15.51% or 0.47 points to trade at 3.50 at the close. Meanwhile, YDUQS Participacoes SA (BVMF: YDUQ3 ) added 10.90% or 1.46 points to end at 14.85 and MRV Engenharia e Participacoes SA (BVMF: MRVE3 ) was up 8.79% or 0.45 points to 5.57 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Raia Drogasil SA (BVMF: RADL3 ), which fell 3.05% or 0.65 points to trade at 20.69 at the close. Hapvida Participacoes e Investimentos (BVMF: HAPV3 ) declined 2.26% or 0.05 points to end at 2.16 and Azul SA Pref (BVMF: AZUL4 ) was down 2.24% or 0.07 points to 3.06.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 585 to 303 and 64 ended unchanged.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 2.91% to 28.63.

Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.21% or 7.10 to $3,339.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 2.98% or 1.86 to hit $64.33 a barrel, while the May US coffee C contract rose 0.20% or 0.75 to trade at $376.80 .

USD/BRL was down 1.00% to 5.81, while EUR/BRL fell 1.19% to 6.61.

The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 99.14.
