Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Energy , Media and Information Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 1.11%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Pepco Group Nv (WA: PCOP ), which rose 10.14% or 1.50 points to trade at 16.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA: TPE ) added 6.58% or 0.32 points to end at 5.12 and Dino Polska SA (WA: DNP ) was up 3.19% or 15.70 points to 508.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupa Azoty SA (WA: ATTP ), which fell 1.76% or 0.36 points to trade at 20.14 at the close. Text SA (WA: TXTP ) declined 1.08% or 0.55 points to end at 50.20 and Synektik (WA: SNTP ) was down 0.88% or 1.80 points to 203.60.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 322 to 214 and 91 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA: TPE ) rose to 5-year highs; up 6.58% or 0.32 to 5.12. Shares in Dino Polska SA (WA: DNP ) rose to all time highs; up 3.19% or 15.70 to 508.20.
Crude oil for May delivery was up 2.82% or 1.76 to $64.23 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 2.52% or 1.66 to hit $67.51 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 1.03% or 34.39 to trade at $3,312.01 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.20% to 4.28, while USD/PLN rose 0.47% to 3.77.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 99.20.
