Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology , Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.60%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.54%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA: URW ), which rose 1.80% or 1.26 points to trade at 71.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Publicis Groupe SA (EPA: PUBP ) added 1.22% or 1.02 points to end at 84.84 and AXA SA (EPA: AXAF ) was up 0.89% or 0.35 points to 39.51 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hermes International SCA (EPA: HRMS ), which fell 3.22% or 76.00 points to trade at 2,287.00 at the close. Airbus Group SE (EPA: AIR ) declined 2.88% or 4.04 points to end at 136.46 and Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA: SGOB ) was down 2.61% or 2.32 points to 86.58.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Forvia (EPA: FRVIA ) which rose 8.12% to 6.37, Fnac Darty SA (EPA: FNAC ) which was up 2.98% to settle at 28.53 and Covivio SA (EPA: CVO ) which gained 2.48% to close at 50.85.
The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA: ATOS ) which was unchanged 7.69% to 0.00 in late trade, Ipsen SA (EPA: IPN ) which lost 4.32% to settle at 90.70 and Biomerieux SA (EPA: BIOX ) which was down 3.89% to 113.70 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 238 to 223 and 98 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ipsen SA (EPA: IPN ) fell to 52-week lows; losing 4.32% or 4.10 to 90.70.
The CAC 40 VIX , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.07% or 35.64 to $3,310.76 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 3.33% or 2.08 to hit $64.55 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 3.04% or 2.00 to trade at $67.85 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.36% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.36% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 99.25.
