Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil, Gas & Electricity , Information Services and Machinery sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 1.77%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Tsang Yow Industrial Co Ltd (TW: 1568 ), which rose 10.00% or 2.20 points to trade at 24.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Fortune Information Systems Corp (TW: 2468 ) added 10.00% or 5.40 points to end at 59.40 and Yusin Holding Corp (TW: 4557 ) was up 10.00% or 9.50 points to 104.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Falcon Power Co Ltd (TW: 1516 ), which fell 3.63% or 0.55 points to trade at 14.60 at the close. Formosa Oilseed Processing Co Ltd (TW: 1225 ) declined 3.42% or 1.05 points to end at 29.65 and Silergy Corp (TW: 6415 ) was down 2.46% or 10.50 points to 415.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Shares in Formosa Oilseed Processing Co Ltd (TW: 1225 ) fell to 5-year lows; falling 3.42% or 1.05 to 29.65.
Crude oil for May delivery was up 1.20% or 0.75 to $63.22 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.93% or 0.61 to hit $66.46 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.20% or 6.59 to trade at $3,339.81 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.38% to 32.52, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.41% to 0.23.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 99.50.
