Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms & IT , Building & Construction and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ArcelorMittal SA (BME: MTS ), which rose 3.18% or 0.73 points to trade at 23.69 at the close. Meanwhile, Caixabank SA (BME: CABK ) added 1.06% or 0.06 points to end at 5.74 and Acerinox (BME: ACX ) was up 1.04% or 0.10 points to 9.76 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Indra A (BME: IDR ), which fell 3.75% or 0.71 points to trade at 18.21 at the close. Mapfre (BME: MAP ) declined 2.72% or 0.07 points to end at 2.58 and ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (BME: ACS ) was down 1.84% or 0.95 points to 50.80.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 96 to 95 and 28 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.57% or 15.74 to $2,780.74 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.39% or 0.29 to hit $74.33 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.04% or 0.03 to trade at $78.26 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 1.01% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.76% at 107.04.
