Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials , Industrials and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Lisbon, the PSI lost 0.80% to hit a new 1-month low.

The best performers of the session on the PSI were EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI: EDP ), which rose 0.82% or 0.03 points to trade at 3.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI: JMT ) added 0.05% or 0.01 points to end at 18.53 and Sonae SGPS SA (ELI: YSO ) was unchanged 0.11% or 0.00 points to 0.90 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI: BCP ), which fell 2.45% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.45 at the close. Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI: MOTA ) declined 1.94% or 0.05 points to end at 2.73 and Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI: RENE ) was down 1.27% or 0.03 points to 2.33.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 17 to 7 and 6 ended unchanged.

Brent oil for February delivery was down 1.39% or 1.03 to $72.88 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 2.06% or 1.46 to hit $69.25 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.52% or 13.86 to trade at $2,656.14 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.03% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.31% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 106.48.
